Players need to accumulate enough trophies to unlock a new stage. When a stage is unlocked, you can tap the yellow "PLAY" button to start a game in that stage. When it's locked, you will find the button greyed out with the trophy requirement on it. Check the button to find the minimum trophies required for each stage (e.g. at least 3800 trophies are needed to unlock stage 10).
